It is officially Fall and as Lauren DeStefano once said, “ Fall is the time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” What are you doing this season? Here is a tip: spend some time outside, and enjoy the view of mother nature’s grand finale. Unwind and encounter the chilly breeze and the changing colors of the falling leaves. This season let’s curtail the intensity of everyday life and take care of things that matter to us.

On that note, when was the last time you cleaned/protected your outside furniture? Think about it before you go out and enjoy this lovely fall weather, let’s do some simple but effective upkeep!

Here are 4 quick tips;

1. Protect cushion fabric with a spray-on sun and water shield;
If your outdoor furniture is not made with sun and water-repellent fabric you can get one in your local Home Depot, Lowes, or everyone’s favorite Amazon and add the protection yourself Most repellents dry without odor and prevent yellowing and fading.
2. Use Covers
Using covers protects your outdoor furniture from damaging sun rays and precipitation. Ensure the covers fit comfortably over each piece, not too tight or not too loose, allowing air to get in and underneath to prevent unwanted mold or mildew.

3. Off-season outdoor furniture storage
Not only useful for hiding unwanted decor from your partner (lol) but outdoor furniture storage is useful to protect your furniture from constant water changes, mold, and mildew growth.

4. Keep your furniture in the shade

Consider putting your furniture under an umbrella or a more permanent shade structure. All of your furniture will benefit from sun protection, expand the set’s life, and lower the risk of rain, wind, and sun damage.

Again, simple but effective. Just like you prepare yourself for a bath with, pedals, candles, wine, the bubbles, and Netflix…set the vibe of relaxation of the Autumn scenery by taking care of your outdoor furniture.
