Anyone who has met me for any time at all  knows that my favorite space to design is the powder room. This little jewel box is your best opportunity to make a large and lasting impression on all who visit your home. If my guests don’t come out saying, “O M Geeee!” then I have failed. As you are about to see I pulled all the punches in my own powder room.

The lynchpin of this design was the wallcovering. It was love at first sight the moment my eyes met the monkeys on the Rendezvous Tokyo Blue Arte brand wallcovering from Jeffrey Michaels. All other elements had to be supporting players. That being said, the Imperial wall tile from Walker Zanger is second to no one. The bold tangerine hue and embossed pattern provide the perfect foil and geometry to Mr. Monkey’s organic frivolity.

The deep blue Canto vanity with striated marble top by Icera provides the eye a brief moment of respite until it is met by the dynamic Gigi Clustered Clover Corbett sconces, all of which were sourced from Houzz. The flowers flutter over the vanity mirror and provide a flattering ethereal glow.

Lest you think me impractical, all needs are being met via the DVX toilet from Ferguson and Newport Brass Metropole faucet and hardware from Snyder Diamond. While these elements are necessary, I did not skimp on their function or looks.

Top takeaway is this: use the smallest room of your home to make the largest impact. With the reduced square footage and limited time spent in this space a great opportunity is presented. Select what you REALLY love, add ALL the color you crave, and WOW residents and visitors alike.
