One room often has to perform several roles.  Our guest room needed to provide the comfort and calm our friends have come to expect but also function as a home office most days of the year.  The neutrality of an office had to be in balance with the visual interest of a retreat.  A bold blend of geometry melds with a muted pallet to create the perfect double act.

Furnishing selections were key to this multifunctional space.  For guests, a stylish and comfortable Apt2B sofa bed welcomes them, while the Phillips Collection side table and Safaviah Mae lamp provide a place to recharge a phone or leave a bedtime book.  During the day, the Avida desk from Sunpan allows for ample workspace yet is still light enough to move aside when the sun goes down.   All furnishing selections were sourced quickly and conveniently though Houzz.

Geometric glamor is achieved through the Arte Section wallpaper from Jeffrey Michaels. Natural light bounces off the metallic elements of the wallpaper, brightening the room. Further lighting is added with a centrally fixed Hinkley Ren chandelier.  Centering the light in the room allows us to move furniture as needed without compromising the overall feel.  To further emphasize the depth and geometry, accessorizing items in rich black tones are placed throughout.

Continuing the color palette into the bathroom, Sherwin Williams’ Drift of Mist adorns the walls while Tricorn Black turns the cabinets into a statement piece. Functionality is maintained with the comfort of DXV’s toilet from Ferguson. Newport Brass’s faucet and towel bar from Snyder Diamond are the final adornments to the bathroom. Whether working hard all day or visiting as a guest, the clean palette of this bathroom is sure to relax and rejuvenate.
